YEAH, icefrog really cool, releasing his new map in the christmas day,i think he wanted to make this new map as a christmas present to all the dota player in the world.
the more stable version, the 6.70b and 6.70c have also been released within two weeks, overall the new map, provides 2 new heroes and 3 new items, which is good, since DotA has been growing rapidly in 2010.
I will try to review the changelogs first and the new things later, so check it out :
1.Frostmourne bonus movement speed increased from 10 to 15%
for me its a weird change, since people who using abbadon will take the shield and the nuke 1st, or icefrog indirectly ask the player to use abbadon as an attacker? haha
2.Spell Shield magic reduction from 15/25/35/45 to 26/34/42/50%
wow 50% magic ressistance with 25% natural, equal to 62,5% total reduction, shocked? you shouldn't since his name was anti-mage btw, lol.
3.Berserker's Call bonus armor from 5/10/15/20 to a constant 30
tbh, it is a waste of buff for me, since axe is vulnerable to magic attack, why didnt increase the magic reduction instead? but it still a good buff to axe to counter physical-oriented heroes in late game
4.Reduced Fiend's Grip cooldown from 120 to 100
i think icefrog just try to remind the players that atropos is still on the pool, it is a good heroes, with lots of disable and nuke, i also wondering why no one pick atropos in recent competetive games? his nightmare is a good initiating skill, so i consider this buff as a reminder since 20 seconds wasn't that material for me.
4.Increased Track's movement bonus aoe from 800 to 900, Increased armor by 2
another buffs to gondar, but not that significant buffs, gondar is a good backstabber heroes, but since courier now can carry gems, makes the invisible and backstabber become less viable choice at the competetive game nowadays.
5.Hoof Stomp stun duration from 1.25/1.75/2.25/2.75 to 2.0/2.25/2.5/2.75
rescaling time buff, making centaur is even better at early stage with stomp and double edge.
6.Persuasion cooldown from 30 to 30/26/22/18
Chen's position as a natural creep user has been replaced by aiushta for a long time, will this buff help chen gain his position again? im doubt that will happen, but lets see.
7.Increased base damage by 5, Removed healing cap (was 1000) on Exorcism, Strength gain from 1.8 to 2.2
as a krobelus user, i love this buff, krobelus again become a good pusher-carry-tanker, with other buff to bloodstone, it was a really chance for krobelus to shine again.
8.Decay damage from 30/60/90/120 to 40/80/120/160
slight buff to dirge's decay, but not that significant to bring dirge back, maybe reducing the cooldown 0,5/1 seconds would be better in my humble opinion.
9.Scorched Earth damage and health regeneration reduced from 15/20/25/30 to 12/16/20/24
doom is really imbalance, icefrog already nerf this hero since the two older version but this hero keeps being banned 80% of the competitive game, with this recent nerf im quite sure that doom will still be banned, since people take Scorched Earth mainly for its speed not damage.
10.Improved base attack damage by 6
6 damage is really useful at early stage, making lasthitting or denying becomes easier job
11.Sun Strike kills now give XP to Invoker
another waste of buff, why SS? it's a difficult skill to aim, and damage is not even par with tinker's laser. maybe reducing the penalty damage if it was distributed would be better.
12.Rebalanced base damage from 42-54 to 46-54
weird buff, no need to comment lol.
13.Healing Ward movement speed increased from 150 to 300, Banished units are no longer immune to Blade Fury
a nice buff to yurnero, especially the ward, making it can be used as a bait to the opponent.
14.Blinding Light's cast range increased from 600 to 900
a good buff to ezalor, additional casting range means more safety for eza, since now all his skills have a far casting range.
15.Base damage increased from 45-55 to 53-59
nice, i love this buff since she was one of my favs, making she will be able to last hit and deny better :D.
16.Split Earth damage increased from 70/140/210/290 to 120/180/240/300, Lightning Storm cooldown reduced from 6 to 5.5, Diabolic Edict no longer uses cast point
three buffs to leshrac wow, the damage to split earth is welcomed, the cooldown also nice, but even more better is that the diabolic edict no longer uses cast point, time to using lesh?
17.Dark Ritual cooldown reduced from 55/50/45/40 to 30/27/24/21, Frost Armor manacost increased from 25 to 50, Frost Armor armor reduced from 3/6/9/12 to 3/5/7/9, Frost Nova primary target damage increased from 50/100/125/175 to 50/100/150/200
2 buffs and 2 nerfs to lich, the nerf is predictable, since frost armor is a very imba defensive skill, with bonus armor, and slowing melee atacker, but now lich will be more likely to become a harraser since now dark ritual are more spammable, and nova deals more damage.
18.Shapeshift form critical strike improved from 1.5 to 1.7x, Wolves critical strike improved from 1.5 to 1.7x
haha, lycan got buffed!!!, his wolves are becoming more damaging now, but IMO this buffs wont make lycan occasionaly got picked in competetive scene.
19.Poof cooldown decreased from 16/14/12/10 to 14/12/10/8
Meepo, a difficult hero to use, but can very deadly if used well, this buffs is good, i really hope to see meepo in a replay soon, missed ritter's legendary meepo.
20.Slithice Base damage increased by 5
naga get another damage, now she becomes one of the highest beginning damage heroes
21.Open Wounds team life steal increased from 10/15/20/25% to 15/20/25/30%
wow 30% to all the team? sounds like inderectly nerfing alchemist, since naix and slardar are considered the main counter to alchemist.
22.Degen Aura now also reduces attack speed (same values as the movement speed reduction)
a really nice buff, 36% minus attack speed is faboulus, purist really need to have a back in competitive game
23.Drunken Brawler Crit chance increased from 5/10/15/20 to 10/15/20/25%
Drunken Brawler Evasion chance increased from 6/12/18/24 to 10/15/20/25%
